And as I look again, the additional sewing, creating texture is really wonderful. Great texture and rhythm.

valerianna...the stitching was there, but the lighting changes
so...i turned on the light and
it emphasized the kantha. thank
you for stopping by and i LOVE
your Solstice...the Clay Woman

atta girl!
in each piece i make i am solving a problem. my friend asked me onetime as i sat with a tapestry in my lap why i'd use a color/shape i hate. he's a painter. i couldn't believe he didn't know that to get someplace you have to solve design problems. you have to see where the "ugly" color takes you. same idea here. if you ask a question, then push it further. i am a fan of mistakes.

Jolt- zig zag of color against the stormy blues, and the radiance of the sunflower, sun, storm, lightning. Storm here too last night, unusual in that lightning zig zagged all over but the thunder took a long time in coming and then did so the same time as the heavy rain fell. Strength in this design that tells me a story of storm night in the desert sky of the southwest.

just keep working it out. you develop thinking muscle that way. playing with the lighting is really enLIGHTening...it is another component...

Ahh-your texture is playing with
the light. Maybe you're catching the
environment's lush feeling with the
new moisture but something wonderful
is growing here.

suzanna and michele...well, the
butterflies aren't stitched down
yet, so they ARE popping out, or
just on the surface. i am taking
some deep breaths before i invisible baste them.

Jude...thinking muscle. yes.
and the lighting "accidents" ARE
informative...they add magic sometimes and using my thinking muscle i realize that i can try
to capture that "illusion" and
stitch it in???? maybe???
