base cloth week one story cloth

i think i have NEVER before CHOSEN to stay awake beyond a strong sense of physical discomfort to do something out of
love. or anything else, for that matter.
but i really wanted to finish the invisible basting of the whole cloth, to feel it.
the circle, Deb Lacativa's hand dyed
the background, i think it must be an old much used diaper? that i tea dyed or maybe even metal dyed...i would like to begin
keeping notes.

I haven't really started anything yet, but I will soon. I really like the invisible basting technique.

I've finished work for the week, so want to sit down and organise my cloth this weekend too.
Beautiful dyed fabrics.

Really like those colors and looking forward to what it will become...

A circle, centered, gathering round, waiting for...the stories to come. Using the mini magnifier, the circle becomes a gypsy's skirt, twirling with color, beckoning. Already, I am hearing a story. Marti

the simplicity of a base, normally just a start, stitching it in this way. letting a couple of fabrics touch. sometimes it is just enough for me. for a while.

both are correct. how does one
reconcile?

That piece from the Tamarind group was once a feed sack from the 1930's.
It took the dye more aggressively than the damasks I was working on at the time. Happy it worked for you here.

You are right...I took a closer look at a photo on file and it was an old fragile tablecloth.

This makes a case for leaving my descriptions up long after the shipping date! Thanks!
