I just love a bargin, other peoples cast off's are treasure to me.
What treats!
great score, grace. lots to work with here.
the fringe is a great find!
ohh i love thrift store. older clothes have better fabric.
fringe..yes. i said to self, this
is jude. it is a perfect shawl,
again silk and cashmere, some
very subtle embroidery and beading.
i have no idea what i would do with it....
and yes, kind of a horse, but
different, maybe a little like an
antelope too. hmmm.
michele, the ONLY new clothes i've bought in 15 years are underpants.
the lucky thing about our thrift shop is that we have a small college in town*...students/faculty
unload nice stuff.

Of all of your treasures, the eggplant cloth calls to me and I don't even like eggplant. Think it has something to do with the beckoning cord that is curled...
Marti
great treasures, i'd be wearing at least half of those and quickly cutting up the other half so i didn't deem them too precious to cut into...k.
Anon and kaite, i knew the little
eggplant curl would tug at you
Marti..
and kaite...ALL of them are up for
CLOTH. except maybe the silk
cashmere...we'll see.
i am into my summer uniform mode
of denim jumpers. Got 3 of those
so am all set. one is about to be
"boro'd".
hahahahaha all my clothes are thrift store buys too... either that or really old
you're going to boro your jumpers? oooh i'd like to know/see how you do that... i have some denim jumpers that need sprucing up...
and yes it does look more like an antelope now that you say that... i know i saw someone looking...
I love seeing what others pick out from thrift stores and repurpose. I would so like to be a part of a group that shares the stitching experience. Here are my "treasures":
Sharon's Pieces
hi sharon...yes, there is a
certain Thrill to the Hunt when
at thrift shops. Ours here, for
years, had 10cent Tuesday when
everything was just that. They
were required to move location
this last year and now it's 25cents
to cover the increased rent...but
stilll.......
sometimes i get myself into Albuquerque to the really great
goodwill there and another called
Savers...but it's way more though
the variety is way more too.
Thank you for coming "over" to
my house...
