i like shocking. push things, you can always take it away, but you never know if you don't try it. push color, too, as well as image. you're dancing in all that electricity.

ok, so maybe shocking is a strong word, but pushing past comfort is vital in making work with teeth, with strength.
i see the peace in velma's work as quite shocking.
