sky

what a little word
for what It Is. sky. similar,
weather.
this is part of what i want my cloth to talk about. What it is willing to talk about if i take the time to engage with it. The
sky
and the cloth.
Here, sky is more than half of everything. it makes me small, if i imagine my self on the line of horizon, on the
rim
of the world.

I like to look up at the sky and imagine I'm standing in one of those glass globe things that you can shake and snow comes swirling down.

I will never forget one of my grandmother's telling me she didn't like to look up at the night sky. That it made her feel small and too fragile. I've always felt the opposite. What a miracle that we exist under such an immense sky...

a little word that represents something so limitless and expansive... when i feel overwhelmed with stuff, life, i love to look up at the sky and it reminds me of how little my stuff is. funny how i look up to get grounded. xox

What an *amazing* sky...I can just see that in quilt!

Bitterly cold here today...icy winds and rain. Great night to sit by the fire.

Jennlui, yes! grounded yes, and
also, looking up and raising my
arms in whatever way, instantly
puts me in a place of attention,
mindfulness to what is being asked
of me in the moment. places
me in this particular moment of
time/Life.

and deb, maybe she didn't quite
explain it...when i was younger,
i would stare into the sky and
would feel overwhelmed by its
reality...?

Hi Grace,
My daughter has your name ... thank you for visiting my blog and I am so glad you felt the sky in my work. I am actually working on another piece called "Passing Storm" ~ we made it as far south last year as Arizona and there was one of those storms. I hope to have it up on my blog by next week or so.
Have an amazing time at Spirit Cloth ... she is truly amazing and inspiring.
Best ... Barbara
