if the fence was a stone wall...

did you use cotton or silk cloth to dye? the colour might come out stronger on silk.
Interesting light on the landscape, looks like a painting...k.

kaite, i have been just trying
muslin. and i have to admit that
i have not been at all conscientious. i just plop things
in pint canning jars. ive been keeping up with your dying suggestions on your blog and will become serious about my efforts any minute. what is interesting is that the sun is so intense here, it decomposes the plant substance pretty quickly and that's when something interesting begins to happen. also, i have stuck a little rusted something in to many. and put things in a rusted cast iron pot.
the very best thing i got was when all the water evaporated out of the cast iron and the piece that had beet stems dried completely out. it's black and grey with a beautiful pattern.
the LIGHT happens oddly like that
sometimes in the mornings after
those long night rains. i don't know what it is. makes me want to study whatever that science would be....sometimes it's copper/amber.

i will be back over to "your house"
and make some notes for my next
attempts at the dyeing. i really
need to learn.

What a restful space...I haven't gotten to setting up my dye shelf yet, hopefully this weekend.
