totally cool... I can't tell if its something YOU made or is it a natural chrysalis? If it is, we don't have any quite like THAT up here! I'll have to click on it to enlarge it to get a better look, however, you just gave me an idea for an upcoming artists' retreat here at RavenWood.... THANKS!
funny word verification word... I want to share: piaphons... hmmmm
Isn't nature amazing...never seen such a chrysalis. can you give us an idea of measurements and what are those pretzel like things on it? thanks for sharing.
I thought it was a bat at first glance! What will it become? For that matter, what will any of us become? I often feel like I am wriggling about inside a chrysalis, trying to flex these wings. have fun with your lizard. sometimes they need lots of pieces to help them move and be lizardly. sometimes folding the cloth with little tucks can help them move.
Hi Grace, this looks like an Australian native moth, since childhood I've known it as a casement moth caterpillar. The little bloke lives in side and will pop his/her head out, drag his/her home along and graze, originally on eucalypts but I've found them happy in rose bushes. They feature in siome very famous Aussie children's stories that i was brought up on. I'll try and post some pics on my blog.
I have never seen anything like it...It's huge! We don't have chrystalis as big as that over here... Looking carefully at the 'pointy' end hanging down, I see a birds face.. It is beautiful.. Thank you
tammi...i just looked at your photographs at Spirit Helper and i am honored that my little pic caught your attention. it IS tho such an ARTPIECE...i so much would love to watch the creature building it...maybe someday... thank you for coming by!!!

Oh that is wonderful!
Another wonder of nature... is there a chrysalis forming for another pieced lizard?
Your butterflies are lovely and I can envisage a beautiful cloth.
