weaving one of the selves in

this is Plain Gramma, otherwise known as
Gramz
weaving a pie.
for the 20 yr old grandson.
he says it is the BEST cherry pie, special.

you make a crust.
dump 2 cans of cherry filling in
weave
a lattice top
and bake.

i think it might be the lattice top?????

It's not the woven crust although it is divine; it's not even the cherry pie filling, a wonderful color for the season. It's about that special ingredient that only Gramz can put into pies - love.

Feliz Navidad querida Gramz.

merry christmas grace... beautiful pie! what i like about the canned pie filling is that they use real pie cherries... not the really sweet ones. i have some fresh in the freezer... your pie makes me want to do one for new years! hope your family is well and happy!

Mmmmmmm! I agree with Marti, the best ingredient is LOVE. My children love their grandma's applepie, and she always makes it for them when we visit her.

It's all about grandma made it...and sometimes simplicity. :) And cherry pie filling... all worthy of love.

It's the pure love and fun we "plain" grammas put into our offerings and relationships with our grandchildren that will make us memorable. Having visited the other grandmother's house this holiday season and finding it very fancy, also filled with love however, just not as cozy gramma-like.

I think it is the lattice and the bright red cherries! I always make a cherry pie, but when I don't use pie filling it is not as pretty and I never attempt the lattice work, that would make it special for me!!!!!!! Of course, they would love it no matter what. Happy Christmas to all of you!!
