experiment.
the colored pencil amidst the threads.
thinking about Jude's tutorial on composition.
can the colored pencil and stitch Ground this?, ground it "enough"?
have just begun...going slow...~

should also say that the
pleasure
of marking this woven cloth is
enormous

i do totally love the marking action on this, since it looks like an ancient map anyway. i think this one has a strong center, a kind of natural seed like ground.

marking seems to be something that really appeals to you grace... to me it seems you are making it your own..claiming it.

Okay, let's try that again. I noticed a difference right away. It's amazing what depth pens/pencils add to the piece. Shadows and highlights made clearer.

are these your colored pencils? did you iron them to see if they would meld with the fabric more? i did that with crayon and i really like the effect. yours look like it.
