this is wonderfully beautiful Grace- I love that I can look at your pictures 'big' to see the moon dust swirling and the sun drops scattering.
sophia says ta da all the time. i love it. i love that it scrunched a little. it's beautiful.
i like her costume, so hand woven looking like she made it herself..and that her face echoes the moon. i like how despite things lining upon an angle, everything is also spinning. and how the vertical ridges resulting from the kantha stitches seem to correct all the movements and bring me back to earth. like rain. whew. that just came spilling out.
NICE! I see what you mean about the red butterfly. I love her where you put her, fluttering in the shadow of the moon. Have you named this piece, or do you do that??? I don't remember a name in an earlier post. I also love the texture all your wonderful stitches have given this piece. I wish I could touch it in real time!;~) Debi
Ta da .... and I love it! Those touches of orange and the indigo works so well. Such a beautiful little cloth.Jacky xox
A good day for finishing things. So many details that I like, but I think especially the sun's rays.
just love her denim jeans...at least that's what it looks like to me.
this is a very fine piece. everything works well together. the spinning moon is what makes it all right in keeping my eye moving in the right direction. the butterflies seem to be moving their wings. it is very animated!
I also love it. I love all the french knots above her head and around the piece. It is wonderful to see the cloth scrunch up and be soft. Wish I could hold it as well..
I think this cloth is an altar, not an altar cloth, an altar...
I really like what the stitching does, and the dress- costume, and the movement and that you post and tada is fantasticxx
well done Grace it all hangs together very well...the face is so worldy wise i love it...be proud be very proud!
Joyful and rhythmic.
SHE is...no need for anymore words except that this is so alive to me.
It went in the right direction. Themoon balances the kantha above which balances the figure which is balanced by the orange on the right.Yet you left enough imbalance for itto be in motion. Very nice!
TaDa!, back at you, Grace!I enlarged your story cloth, LARGE, tosee the moon up close...... i love howit radiates into the ripples of cloth, allas one. que linda
And you ask, "What am I not doing?"She says "Your voice cannot command. In time, you will move mountains,And it will come through your hands." So whatever your hands find to doYou must do with all your heartThere are thoughts enoughTo blow men's minds and tear great worlds apart There's a healing touch to find youOn that broad highway somewhereTo lift you highAs music flyingThrough the angel's hair. Don't ask what you are not doingBecause your voice cannot commandIn time we will move mountainsAnd it will come through your hands
Grace and Nandas both: one powerful word of "wow".
