jude...3d weaving.
this is Wolf Basket, woven by
Joyce Tinkham in Ann Arbor Michigan
who i have tried to find and can't.
Back in my other life, when i
was part owner of the book store
there...we also, in the beginning,
offered things like this.
joyce made the most amazing baskets
...containers, really, like this
...just from jute.
so..that was um, i guess 1987?
Wolf Basket has traveled the world
with me. is one of my most treasured things. inside are
both my kids umbilical cords and
their first lost teeth.
i have tried to find her because
i think she would like to know.
she also told me something very
important. her grandmother taught
her to bead, was north coast native
...don't know in this moment how
to spell..tlinket..is it, phonetically, anyway, her grandmother taught her to search
and search for any dropped bead.
that if you say...oh, well, not
important, the spirit of the beads
will never allow you to make
beautiful designs. each and every
single bead carries this spirit.
i will take more pics of Wolf
basket

Always great stories! You owned a book store in Ann Arbor? Is it still there just different owners? Is it Crazy Wisdom? I could see you fitting in there. :)
