Sky cloth with a magical opening where you can climb out or climb in. A portal that looks out onto a special place. This weave, the colors remind me of a dappled forest where the light shines on the wood bark on tree trunks, on the forest floor; where discoveries can be found looking down,up,around, near, far, inside, outside; where it is still and a butterfly can come and land or fly through and lead a child, lead you or I to a place that lets you feel so many things...

marti...then, it is good. these
words are perfect
this image of climbing out or
climbing in...and i love the
word
climbing here
a perfect word

thank you and much much love,

Wow, this butterfly is flying towards the moon. It's lovely Grace, the cloth makes me think of Mother Earth.

grace Forrest~Maestas said...

Sandra...Yes!...more a good sense
of it...earth.
the other was just Wind, ephemeral,
this then, twice here, coming
through as solid.
the whole cloth, though it is the
same dimensions, is heavier...
the kantha sides and bottom are
3 layers instead of two.
oh...this is good.
we have earth
forest, bark and tree trunks.
thank you

empty of intent

before looking at a close-up, it appeared very textural, 3D like. beautiful cloth. intent is very powerful so it is wise that you are treading cautiously.

It looks very soft and inviting and at the same time makes me think of copper shining in the sun...it also evokes a wind chime sound for me.

jude...yes. the others were in
their way collaborations between
me and the girls. this last is
the only thing that i am making
FOR them, for the energy that
Wendy creates with them. it is
not my story at all but a place
of cloth where any story can
occur. at least this is what i
hope.

grace Forrest~Maestas said...

deanna...yes. intent is sometimes
good but not here.

Suzanna...a wind chime sound...
ahhhh. and copper, ahhhh again.
it IS such soft fabric..it's
rayon, which i love so much. when
we get to the Advanced Cloth to
Cloth and jude teaches about
the qualities of fabrics, i will
finally learn about this particular
old kind of rayon. it rips in
the most elegant way and the little
fibers at the edges make me swoon.
i love it much more than any silk
except noil and gauze.

This one seems to glow in the light parts.

grace Forrest~Maestas said...

Yvonne...i want it to glow. am
thinking about copper wire
transmits electricity
electricity=energy

back to Suzanna

Rayon! A surprise to me, but when I look close I definitely see what you mean about the edges. Yum.

oh i remember this skirt grace... beautiful. i bet it is really soft to the touch... my eyes see a magical knot hole in an old old tree... butterfly sitting on the edge, letting you know it's okay to journey through... maybe it's her home

grace Forrest~Maestas said...

twhIch...ah yes. another tree
vision. this is good. i'm glad
you remember the skirt, how i
was so hesitant to ask jude about
"the r word".

Grace, this is fine. It's like the
feeling I get from sitting meditation-Empty/Full of the moment.
So very wonderful this is!

Patty...yes. yesterday, between
the stitching, i found self going
to Sit small periods of time.
