a Sunday

i have to chase the dogs off the couch everytime i want to see my progress.
i love each and every part of this...have earnestly invisible basted
all seams flat. even that.
there is nothing about this process that i have an urge
to
hurry
through.
there is a steady, concentrated rhythm to it all.

Laughing, when I laid out the quilt I was mending today, the cat thought it was play and pounce time. It's good to go slow...

Its nice to see the progress... lovely. Sky-like. And I like the later post, seeing your place of communication origin. Happy sewing.

Is that the new curtain in the window? I couldn't sleep last night....that is when my ideas come flowing. It suddenly occurred to me that I could make the three window coverings that I need, just like Grace! I have a studio of windows that look out over the woods. I hate to cover windows. Perhaps if I made three panels that could be easily put up when the sun is too bright and taken down again so I can see my world. Thanks for the inspiration, Grace.

Penny ~ no, that curtain, "window
hanger", went to Wendy Golden-
Levitt in Toronto at the request
of her children. the ones in
this pic are just natural colored
linen panels. i need to see if
i can get a close up pic of the
weave..it is irregular in places,
not straight in general...just
LOVE it and i create my window
"installations" on these, pinning
to them other peoples work, Heike's
aqua girl, for one. move things
around. Sometimes just a single
piece of fabric that i like. The
light illuminates it all...they
sometimes are like a design wall.
NOT great for weatherizing in the
cold times, but.....
i will take some pics as we go
of what takes place there...kinda
like performance art for cloth
fragments...most beautiful when
they are frayed, with dangling
threads....
EXCITED to see what you come up
with if you try.
